Fairygreen Cottage
Introduction
Surrounded by farmland with stunning views of the Sidlaw hills, Fairygreen cottage is the perfect countryside getaway. Built in 1872 for the Estate’s stockman, this traditional Scottish cottage has been lovingly restored and remodelled internally to provide incredible comfort for a peaceful holiday. The cottage features two spacious rooms with kingsize beds, an ensuite and separate bathroom. Outside your very own Big Green Egg BBQ awaits for alfresco feasts in the garden. We welcome children of all ages and a travel cot and highchair can be provided at no extra cost.
Facilities & Services
The kitchen comes fully equipped for cooking rather than reheating, oven, hob and fridge included, and the sitting room holds a log-burning stove with seats for all four. A Big Green Egg waits in the garden for alfresco dinners, the ceramic barbecue people write love letters about. The garden closes off fully, there's parking for four cars, and a travel cot and highchair come free on request.
Location
Fairygreen Cottage sits at Collace in rural Perthshire, on Dunsinnan Farm & Estate between the Strathmore Valley and the Sidlaw Hills. Perth is around 20 minutes by car and Dundee half an hour, with Edinburgh about an hour south and the Highlands beginning less than an hour north.
Good to know
No pets, on account of ground-nesting birds and livestock on the farm. Minimum stay is two nights. Children of all ages are welcome. The cottage is Sustonica-certified as a sustainable holiday let and the estate runs carbon negative. Short-term let licence PK11379F.
What's nearby
Dunsinane Hill and its Iron Age hillfort can be climbed from the estate itself, with Kings Seat and Black Hill alongside and deer, grouse and red squirrels about. Scone Palace is a short drive, Dunkeld has the Hermitage, Rumbling Bridge and Aran Bakery, and Blairgowrie's golf and St Andrews sit within day-trip range.
